Importing and registering a vehicle > 3.5T

Do you want to import or register a vehicle > 3.5T? Please consult the corresponding section:

Having your vehicle checked and/or accepted may involve your vehicle being physically checked.

If so, you will have to take your vehicle to one of the SNCA's sites.

The site at Sandweiler will be able to deal with all acceptance cases.

The sites at Esch-sur-Alzette and Marnach will be able to deal with 80% of acceptance cases. Please check with the SCNA in advance which site(s) will be able to deal with acceptance for your vehicle.

A physical check is carried out to check that your vehicle complies with the legislation in force.
Your vehicle should be clean and in good working order. The manufacturer's plate, the chassis number (stamped into the chassis or hull), and the engine identification plate or number should be located and cleaned.

Otherwise, or if you have any difficulties, it is recommended that you contact a professional (dealer, garage, etc.), who should be able to help.

On the day of the physical check, you must present all the documents (manufacturer's agreement (accord constructeur), expert's report drawn up by an approved technical service, acceptance notes/certificates from an approved body for vehicle approval, etc.) relating to changes and alterations made to the vehicle.

Once it has been determined that your vehicle meets the legal requirements, you can start on the registration procedure.
