The National Society of Automotive Traffic (Société nationale de circulation automobile - SNCA) hereby informs you that from 15 June 2019, a new device called "Intelligent Tachograph" or "1C" or "2nd generation" will be installed on all new vehicles subject to regulation (EU) N°561/2006 (and within 15 years for the rest of the fleet), pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 165/2014 and Annex 1C of the Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2016/799, as amended by Regulation (EU) No 2018/502.
The transition of the workshop card application from Generation 1 to Generation 2 will take place from 20 May 2019. This will have various implications for the demand for workshop cards.
New cards will be manufactured and issued according to a predefined schedule:
- Generation 2 workshop cards will be produced from 20 May 2019
- Technicians must obtain a second generation workshop card in order to work with the intelligent tachograph
- This new workshop card is only issued if the technicians have first undergone specific training on the intelligent tachograph.
Order a new generation 2 workshop card
- If you want a Generation 2 workshop card valid from the order date although a valid Generation 1 workshop card is still available, you must request a card replacement. In such case, the old workshop card must be returned.

À noter:
- Toute carte d’atelier de la génération 1 avec une validité supérieure à 2 mois après la date de commande sera remplacée par une carte d’atelier de la génération 2 et aura la même fin de validité que l’ancienne carte (génération 1)
- Toute carte d’atelier de la génération 1 avec une validité inférieure à 2 mois sera renouvelée et aura une validité complète de 1 an à partir de la date de commande.
Les cartes d'atelier de la génération 1 valables jusqu'à la date d'expiration imprimées, peuvent continuer à être utilisé mais ne fonctionnent que pour les tachygraphes numériques actuels de la génération 1.
