The SNCA is responsible for:
- registering taxis and checking that they comply with the legal framework;
- checking and sealing taximeter fittings, when they are first installed, and periodically thereafter. The check includes an administrative examination and metrological tests;
- issuing metrological logbooks (carnets métrologiques) once a taximeter has been fitted.
