If the owner or holder of a vehicle registered in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg changes his/her usual address or the address of the registered office, the new address must be entered on Part 1 (grey) of the vehicle's registration certificate by the end of the following month.
If the new address is on the national registry of natural and legal persons, the owner/holder should exchange the old registration certificate for a new one indicating the new address.
If the new address is not on the national registry of natural and legal persons, the person concerned must:
- in the case of a natural person, contact the municipal authorities of his/her place of residence, to be entered on the national registry of natural persons.
- in the case of a legal person, contact the Commercial and Companies Register, to be entered on the national register of natural persons.
The change of address on the registration certificate can be done:
- by going to the municipality authorities of the new address (for natural and legal persons) with Part 1 (grey) of the vehicle's registration certificate of the concerned vehicle.
- by sending an application together with Part 1 (grey) of the vehicle's registration certificate of the concerned vehicle by post to the SNCA.
- by attending one of the SNCA's reception with Part 1 (grey) of the vehicle's registration certificate for the vehicle concerned.
When the change of address involves a person listed as the holder on the registration certificate, authorization from the vehicle owner will be required to have the new address entered on the registration certificate.
