If the owner or holder of a vehicle registered in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg changes his/her usual address or the address of the registered office, the new address must be entered on Part 1 (grey) of the vehicle's registration certificate by the end of the following month, either by the SNCA or, for natural persons only, by the municipal authorities of the new address.
If the new address is on the national registry of natural and legal persons, the SNCA swaps the old registration certificate for a new one indicating the new address.
If the new address is not on the national registry of natural and legal persons, the person concerned must:
- in the case of a natural person, contact the municipal authorities of his/her place of residence, to be entered on the national registry of natural persons.
- in the case of a legal person, contact the Commercial and Companies Register, to be entered on the national register of natural persons.
When the change of address involves a person listed as the holder on the registration certificate, authorization from the vehicle owner will be required to have the new address entered on the registration certificate.
